To turn it off add the following to your robots.txt

User-agent: Fasterfox
Disallow: /

Personally I only enable courteous setting on fasterfox, the network tweaks cause problems on some sites and if your broadband is fast enough then it shouldn’t matter. Enabling prefetching will eat into your monthly bandwidth allowance for things you may never read!

  • Adblock Plus – Blocks adverts and other annoying things, includes auto-updating block lists.
  • British English Dictionary – Required for us Brits for the inbuilt spell checker in firefox 2.x
  • Fasterfox – Tweaks the firefox network settings to get a bit more performance out of firefox
  • Firebug – New debug console for firefox, shows errors with pages, and lots of other useful debug stuff, like network times, dom inspector (you can even edit attributes in pages)
  • Forecasfox Enhanced – Shows the weather in your status bar
  • IE Tab – Enables IE within a tab
  • Tab Mix Plus – Customisation of how tabs and windows work

All these can be got from the above links or https://addons.mozilla.org/.

Firebug on the mozilla site is the old stable version, get the beta from the link above it’s a massive improvement with a load more features.

If you want a book from whsmith, you can order a book online and get it delivered to a local whsmith store for free, so you get Internet prices at your local store. It does take a few days (about 5 or so) but if you want to save some money and don’t want a book urgently then buy the book online and select store delivery!

If anyone is looking to upgrade to a widescreen monitor I can highly recommend the Benq FP222WA 22″ LCD Widescreen 5ms (1680×1050).

I got mine from Ebuyer for 211.75 inc vat (once at ebuyer do a search for FP222WA), a great bagain.

Unfortunately the table wouldn’t go together correctly as there was a 3mm gap which wouldn’t let the screw catch on the thread, today I rang them up to get the table returned.

With no hassle after I’d explained the problem they said no problem, do you want us to pick it up to which I said yes, they then offered me a replacement or a refund by cheque, vouchers or cash, I accepted cheque. The only down side is they can’t pick it up till next monday, still great service from them and I’d recommend them in the future.
